Mindgruve has been honored by the Webby Awards, which recognize digital and Web excellence in Websites, Interactive Advertising and Media, Online Film and Video, Mobile and Apps, and Social.
Selected from over 11,000 entries, the U-T San Diego iPad app was acknowledged alongside big names in news including CNN, Bloomberg, All Things D, The Associated Press, and The Washington Post. The annual competition is presented and judged by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), whose members include Huffington Post Media president Arianna Huffington, Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, Tumblr founder David Karp, Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom, and Mozilla CEO Mitchell Baker.
Offering a fresh take on the U-T as we know it, the app secured over 32,000 downloads and landed a number-one spot in the iTunes store. It has also been recognized at the Internet Advertising Competition and ADDY Awards.
