Mindgruve is seeking a Public Relations Supervisor to support the development, execution, and optimization of PR strategies across a diverse portfolio of clients — including a national brand in the building materials and outdoor living industry.This role is ideal for someone who’s a strong communicator, skilled media strategist, and natural storyteller. You’ll manage day-to-day public relations activities, contribute to planning and campaign execution, and collaborate closely with internal teams and agency partners to elevate brand visibility through earned media and influencer integration. We are prioritizing candidates located in or near Covington, KY, as this role is expected to be in-office on a hybrid basis.

What You’ll Do Here:

  • Develop and Execute PR Strategies: Support and manage programs that build brand awareness and drive business objectives across B2C and B2B audiences — including building materials, home improvement, and lifestyle sectors.
  • Lead Media Relations: Pitch and secure meaningful earned coverage through proactive storytelling, media outreach, and product placement in national, trade, and regional publications.
  • Manage Awards Submissions: Identify, prepare, and manage award nominations for clients, ensuring strategic alignment and visibility within key industry categories.
  • Plan and Support Events/Expos: Coordinate and oversee PR activities for trade shows, expos, and media events, including press materials, onsite support, and media engagement.
  • Support Brand Partnerships: Collaborate on cross-promotional opportunities and partnerships with other major brands or organizations to drive awareness and strengthen client positioning.
  • Support Influencer Integration: Collaborate with influencer marketing leads to develop and manage creator partnerships that complement PR strategies and amplify brand storytelling.
  • Campaign Planning & Execution: Contribute to quarterly and annual PR planning, ensuring alignment with brand goals, launches, and seasonal opportunities.
  • Content Development: Draft and refine press releases, pitches, talking points, and bylined content to deliver clear, consistent messaging.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor and analyze PR results, providing actionable insights and optimization recommendations.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with creative, strategy, and media teams to ensure integrated, cross-channel communications.
  • Mentor Junior Team Members: Provide guidance and feedback to coordinators and specialists, helping to grow the next generation of PR talent.

We Need a Person With:

  • 5+ years of public relations experience, preferably in building materials, home improvement, lifestyle, or outdoor living industries.
  • Proven ability to secure earned media coverage in national consumer and trade publications.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with impeccable attention to detail.
  • Experience supporting client accounts within an agency environment.
  • Familiarity with PR tools such as Muck Rack, Cision, or Meltwater.
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, and time management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working at or with a PR/advertising agency.
  • Experience working with Fortune 500 companies.
  • Strong understanding of how PR integrates with influencer, digital marketing and brand strategy

 

Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
