MindgruveMacarta is on a mission to revolutionize the retail industry and become the leading global marketplace agency for brands around the globe. The Human Resources Manager will support people operations, including benefit administration, oversee company policies and drive talent performance.  

The role is based in Denver, Colorado and will be primarily responsible for the following policies and programs: Benefit and Compensation Administration, Leave of Absence, Employees Relations, Performance Evaluations, Policy Administration and Training. Additionally, the HR Manager will have an active role in the recruitment and hiring process, and assist with administrative duties.  In addition to Denver, the role will provide support to our other US regional offices, reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources.

What You'll Do Here:

People Operations (70%)

  • Lead efforts to positively impact the employee experience and lifecycle; including recruitment, new hire onboarding, performance management, learning and development, employee engagement & retention, compensation, benefits, and total rewards.
  • Support HR communications across the US to keep employees informed and engaged. 
  • Take a leadership role in developing and implementing an Internship & Mentorship Programs across Global Teams.
  • Partner with the global HR Team to develop and manage the MindgruveMacarta reward and recognition programs, including spot recognition, incentives, and employee award programs. 
  • Act as a trusted advisor to management; provide guidance and coaching to build management and leadership capabilities across teams.
  • In collaboration with the VP, HR, establish and monitor employee programs such as compensation, benefits, and safety for our US operations.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of state and federal wage requirements regarding compensation.
  • Support efforts to regularly evaluate employee compensation as it relates to industry standards and pay market data.
  • Leave of Absence & Employee Relations Administration:
    • Act as the main point of contact for all employee leave of absences (i.e. Parental Leave, Medical Leave, Workers’ Compensation, etc.), maintaining documentation, tracking leave entitlements, and engaging in the interactive process throughout. 
    • Maintain up to date knowledge of leave laws and sick time for Colorado and California primarily, along with 20+ other states (i.e. FMLAI, CFRA, FMLA, HFWA, etc.)
    • Oversee & document all requests for Reasonable Accommodation and advise management of issues as they arise. 
  • Performance Management tasks to include:
    • Work with department leaders to establish career-path plans for employees, by constructing future-role job descriptions and identifying key skills required for any employee to illustrate in order to be considered for raise/promotion
    • Participate in meetings with employees and their respective manager regarding any disciplinary actions, warnings or terminations
    • Work with managers to validate performance evaluations are being completed timely and proactively identify performance-related deficiencies. Then, work with management to implement solutions.
    • Identify best practices for accountability and appropriate reporting metrics that support company wide goals and objectives and track employee engagement and performance.
  • Employee Engagement:
    • Foster a positive work environment and uphold our Core Values.
    • Serve as a resource for employees, addressing questions and concerns related to their employment and career path.
    • Cultivate Employee Resources Groups to engage internally with teams and externally with community groups. 
    • Create and distribute employee engagement and culture surveys to gauge satisfaction and identify areas for improvement

Policy Development & Training (20%)

  • Work with the internal teams to understand development needs, then maximize and implement available training programs.
  • Partner with the leadership team to identify, craft and communicate company policies across a wide range of topics.
  • Advise on and manage development opportunities to support career growth for staff.
  • Assist in updating and maintaining the Employee Handbook.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

Administrative Duties (10%)

  • Coordinate with other HR Team members to ensure HRIS data changes are processed and maintain data integrity.
  • Track employee milestones (birthdays / anniversaries / other) and communicate to wider team
  • Assist in travel logistics and manage employee expenses / reimbursements for work-travel
  • Assist in tracking PTO requests & approvals; and support managers in ensuring all departments have employee-coverage during PTO days
  • Assist in the hiring process by reviewing resumes, setting & conducting introductory interviews via Zoom, advising hiring manager to most-qualified candidates within salary budget. Craft and deliver offer-letters, participate in any negotiations with prospective employees regarding salary, benefits etc.
  • Manage Internship Program from identification, onboarding, evaluation, off-boarding
  • Help create and implement a New Employee Orientation plan, organize training materials & first 30 day schedule for new employees
  • Maintain and communicate Office Closures/Holiday schedules 

We need a person with:

  • 5+ years relevant HR experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field desired
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations (both federal and Colorado state)
  • SHRM-CP highly desirable
  • Prior experience in retail media, e-commerce, digital marketing or related field preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Hyper-organized and attention to detail
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Compensation

  • Salary: $85,000 - $95,000 per year

 

Compensation will be commensurate with experience. Additionally, for eligible full-time employees, we offer a competitive benefits package including medical insurance, dental insurance, and vision insurance; a flexible spending account; voluntary life and accident plans; and a 401(k) retirement plan with matching. Our headquarters is based in San Diego, California, with an additional office in Denver, Colorado. We're seeking local candidates (or those open to relocation) who are able to work collaboratively with us in one of our office's; however, based on business needs and unique job functions, some roles may be eligible for remote work. (Bonus points if you’re bilingual in Spanish and/or Portuguese.)
