Director, Public Relations.

Mindgruve is seeking a Director of Public Relations to oversee the day-to-day strategy, design, and execution of our client’s and/or the agency’s public relations and social media marketing campaigns. The role is responsible for boosting brand awareness, while attracting and engaging the target audiences. The position leads the PR and organic social team, and proactively builds relationships with publicists, editors, journalists, influential bloggers, and web publishers to optimize our agency and clients’ social presence.

What you’ll do here:

  • Plan, implement and manage all public relations campaigns, publicity efforts, press releases, feature stories, and organic social media initiatives for the agency and/or our clients
  • Use all appropriate media and communication channels to ‘tell the organization’s story’
  • Maximize brand presence on various channels (e.g. web, social media, TV, print, radio) while adhering to budget guidelines
  • Maintain constant attention to detail and an eye for strategy, working closely with team members in every department across the agency to develop and produce content that is engaging, persuasive and aligns with the client and/or agency’s vision and goals
  • Understand the attitudes and concerns of consumers, the public, the employees, and various other stakeholders
  • Actively identify award opportunities to promote the agency, and our clients, then lead the application/nomination process from beginning to end and measure overall impact
  • Collaborate with team members in every department to develop creative promotional materials and copy for PR initiatives
  • Serve as an advocate for our client businesses, and the Mindgruve agency, while building and maintaining positive relationships with the public
  • Monitor the public image of our clients frequently to ensure they are on brand, and regularly review the online content in media announcements across social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google, etc.)
  • Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with representatives of community, consumer, employee, and public interest groups
  • Develop and implement public relations policies and procedures
  • Determine and track KPIs for PR department
  • Measure success and provide reports on each PR campaign 
  • Recruit, hire, onboard and train new members of the public relations team
  • Oversee special PR events (i.e. award ceremonies, charity fundraisers, company announcements, etc.) to increase awareness of our clients and/or Mindgruve agency
  • Manage media coverage of events through contact with writers, editors, producers, and other individuals involved in the production of news content
  • Provide oversight and guidance on community relations, determine corporate giving guidelines and sponsorship criteria for ROI
  • Develop strategies for managing the agency’s image through crisis communications
  • May assist with writing speeches for executives and/or articles for newspapers or other publications 

We need a person with:

  • Must have 10+ years experience at a Public Relations firm or similar as a PR Director, PR Manager, or related managerial role
  • BA in marketing, journalism, advertising, communications, or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous PR management experience in financial, healthcare and/or DTC preferred 
  • Prior experience working on highly creative or complex integrated marketing campaigns and coordinating successful large budget PR initiatives
  • Content development expertise in major social channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.) and experience in blogging, press-releases, podcast, and videography required
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and public speaking skills with confidence and poise to serve as the company’s spokesperson
  • Experience influencer marketing strongly preferred
  • Strategic thinker and problem solver. Able to juggle multiple tasks and various client priorities at one time
  • Develop own content ideas, takes initiative, and assumes responsibility
  • Passion for collaboration, proactive with outstanding organizational, project management and leadership skills, including management of teams of 5-20 people
  • Gifted storyteller and writer. Exceptional creative and persuasive writing skills with ability to develop content for websites, blogs, social channels, email and other channels
  • Ability to foster long-term relationships with key professionals
  • Ability to tailor content strategy & deliverables to applicable client budgets
  • Ability to read a room and tailor your message and style for the audience
  • Ability to command respect with charisma at client meetings
  • A natural inclination to stay connected on email, SMS, phone, and social media
  • Ability to strategize and develop content for a wide range of industries and audiences
  • High proficiency in Mac systems, Pages, Keynote, Google Workspace, and MS Office
